The symbols above represent "Reiki" in the Japanese character system. The top symbol, Rei, means spirit, ghost, and soul. Reiki (pronounced "ray-kee"), is healing energy transmitted through the hands of a "channel" (someone who is channeling energy, who has been "keyed in" to the universal energy flow). Reiki channels are people from all walks of life, all races, and all occupations, who have received energy intensification keys from a qualified Reiki Master or teacher.

Reiki is an extraordinarily simple, yet powerful process. With the traditional Usui hands-on technique, which Reverend Charmaine teaches and practices, healing energy is transferred directly from the hands of the channeler or practitioner to the recipient.

Since we constantly emit and channel energy, we always have within us the ability to heal ourselves. When we are in the pure love-vibration state, Reiki can become even more effective. Reverend Charmaine teaches each student how to maintain this state when administering or receiving Reiki, and it is this technique that makes her Reiki instruction, practitioning, attunements and initiations so effective.

Chakras are the spinning wheels of light and energy located in specific areas of the body and its energy field. Working with the chakras, the spiritual counselor directs and guides you to the energy center for release and balance.

The Chakras

First Chakra: Root, located at the base of the spine. It is related to sexuality, anger, physical functioning, feeling pleasure and pain, and grounding into the earth energy. Color: red.

Second Chakra: Sacral, located one inch below the naval. It deals with the gut, your power center, and wisdom. Here women give of themselves sexually and men receive sexually. It is the center of creation. Color: orange.

Third Chakra: Solar Plexus, located in the ribs. Concerned with mental life, faith, belief in self, self-esteem, and willpower. Color: yellow.

Fourth Chakra: Heart, the chest area. This chakra is the center of love for humanity, connection to celestial energies, and unconditional love. Color: green.

Fifth Chakra: Throat, base of the neck. It relates to higher will, it is the truth center, and is the center of divine willpower. Here things are spoken into being, and we learn to listen and take responsibility for our deeds. It is also the psychic center. Color: blue

Sixth Chakra: Brow, located between the eyebrows. This chakra, also know as the Third Eye, is concerned with celestial love, psychic seeing, re-patterning energy, protection, and nurturing of all life. Color: indigo.

Seventh Chakra: Crown, scalp area. It is related to matters of the higher mind, the integration of heaven and earth, and God/Goddess/self. Color: violet.

The ancient practice of meditation is used to focus, contemplate, and connect with your life force. A variety of meditation techniques are used in accordance with your needs and ability. A guided meditation with Reverend Charmaine might take the following form:

Now close your eyes; become aware of your breath. Notice your inhale and exhale. If any thoughts come up, let them walk right on through you. Feel your body melting into the table or chair. Keep your attention on your inhale and exhale, breathing deeply in, and completely out. Follow the rise and fall of your torso, riding the wave of your breathing, becoming more comfortable within.

Your aura shows You. As you are on the path of healing, your aura needs to be recognized. Some people can see your aura, but everyone senses it. We all have a vibration we carry with us and our aura is this vibration. It reveals itself in sight, sense, and sound.

The aura is the energy field around the body that reflects inner emotions that are communicated to those around you. An aura cleansing is a special process which clears that energy field and brings body, mind and soul into harmony. The reading guides you to your perfect path for healing and power.

You have the power to cleanse and strengthen your aura, and it is your responsible choice to do so. One way to start this process is through meditation. Starting from within is the greatest gift you can give yourself. Become your own best friend, and you will be able to understand the aura of another, and know how to join together to continue on your healing path.

An aura cleansing with Reverend Charmaine begins with the client standing, if possible, or sitting comfortably in a chair, with their back straight. The Prayer of Protection is said. Then the client is instructed to begin breathing deeply.

Aromatherapeutic oils such as sandalwood and/or jasmine, and Florida water, as well as fragrant botanical incense, such as sage or frankincense, are used.

The oils are rubbed in her hands, and swept closely over the entire body of the client to affect the cleansing of the auras. Rev. Charmaine also goes to each major chakra from root to crown, and performs a balancing, lingering over chakras which need to "settle in" especially. As her palms sense the chakras' energy, she directs them to the center of the body as needed, and moves on to the next location.

After centering the energies, frankincense and myrrh are used to cleanse the aura again, and to reinforce the chakra balancing by outlining the body from a distance of about four inches. The oils are then used again at a four-to-six foot distance, for a larger-area cleansing to complete the process.
